Maternity Boudoir
I know we aren't supposed to "choose favorites" but maternity boudoir is at the top of my list! I know so many mommas that go go go: can we stop to think about how magical pregnancy is? This momma is a repeat offender: she came in for her bridal boudoir, a couples session and now a pregnancy shoot. ❤️
When choosing what to wear for your maternity session, you want to choose something comfortable, flattering, and that shows off your baby bump.
Here are some tips on what to wear for a maternity session:
Choose clothes that are comfortable and fit well. You want to feel at ease during your session, so choose clothes that don't constrict your movement or make you feel self-conscious.
Wear clothes that show off your baby bump. Your maternity photos will highlight your pregnancy, so choose clothes that emphasize your bump. You could wear a form-fitting dress, a tight-fitting top, or a wrap-style dress that hugs your curves.
Consider solid colors or small prints. Bold patterns can be distracting in photos, so opt for solid colors or small prints that won't compete with your bump.
Dress in layers. Layers can add dimension and interest to your photos, so consider wearing a cardigan, blazer, or scarf over your outfit.
Don't forget about your accessories. Simple jewelry, like a necklace or earrings, can add a finishing touch to your outfit.
Overall, the key is to choose clothing that makes you feel confident and comfortable. Maternity sessions are all about celebrating your pregnancy and the upcoming arrival of your little one, so wear something that makes you feel beautiful and excited for this new chapter in your life.

40 and fab!
You might come for the photos, but you'll stay for the experience. I've had Moms come back two, three or even four times for different sessions over the year, and of course their photos are always beautiful, but the photos aren't the only thing that keeps them coming back. It's the self-confidence boost you feel long after your session is over. That feeling that you're stunning, incredible and worth your own time - it sticks with you. Boudoir is special that way, it reminds you who you are, and offers space for who you want to become. So if you're like me and everything to do with you gets put on the back burner, I highly recommend you make some time for yourself and book a session.

Boudoir photography is all about capturing intimate and sensual images that celebrate your beauty and confidence. If you're looking for a night-time feel for your boudoir session, there are a few things you can do to create the mood and atmosphere you desire.
Choose the right location: Look for a location that has low lighting or dimmer switches that you can adjust to create a more intimate atmosphere.
Use candles and fairy lights: Candles and fairy lights are an excellent way to create a romantic atmosphere. They provide soft, warm lighting that will add a beautiful glow to your images. You can place candles on the nightstand, dresser, or windowsill.
Wear the right clothing: Choose clothing that is comfortable, flattering, and makes you feel confident. Dark or muted colors can help to create a night-time feel, and lingerie or other intimate apparel can help to enhance the sensual nature of the images.
Work with a skilled photographer: A skilled boudoir photographer can help you to create the atmosphere and mood you desire. They will have experience working with low lighting and can use their expertise to create stunning images that capture the essence of the night-time feel you're looking for.
Remember, the most important thing is to be comfortable and confident in your skin. Boudoir photography is all about celebrating your unique beauty and creating images that make you feel empowered and confident.
Book Lover Boudoir Inspiration
It’s easy to look at boudoir inspo photos and recognize the beauty but still feel like you don’t belong because you don't fit the traditional “model” mold. Guess what? I certainly don’t fit that mold either. But that’s not what I represent over here in my corner of the internet. Boudoir is for everybody and EVERY BODY – it shouldn’t feel like this exclusive club.It doesn’t matter if you’re petite or curvy, short or tall, I want you to know how valuable you are and that you have so much you bring to the table by just showing up as yourself. I hope in the spaces I occupy, you know you belong, that you’re always welcome and that I will celebrate you to the fullest no matter what size, shape, ethnicity or gender you identify with.
There are many places to buy books, and the best place to buy books depends on your personal preferences and needs. Here are some options to consider:
Online retailers: Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and Book Depository are popular online bookstores that offer a vast selection of books in various formats, such as hardcover, paperback, e-book, and audiobook.
Local bookstores: Independent bookstores can be a great place to find unique and rare titles, and they often have knowledgeable staff who can recommend books based on your interests. You can check if there are any local bookstores in your area or support them through their online store. I love Napa Bookmine.
Secondhand bookstores: Used bookstores, such as Half Price Books or ThriftBooks, offer pre-owned books at discounted prices, and you can often find out-of-print or rare books. I have bought many many books from Thift Books with success!
Book fairs and sales: Book fairs, such as the annual Book Expo America, offer discounted prices on books and opportunities to meet authors and attend book signings.
Libraries: Public libraries offer free access to a wide selection of books, and you can often borrow e-books and audiobooks from your local library digitally.
Ultimately, the best place to buy books is where you feel comfortable and confident in finding what you need.

What happens when you set your mind to something
His friends entered him into a fitness contest without asking... And now he's risen to the #1 spot! Woot woot! When Robert came in he was so humble. So so humble. When I asked how he got started in fitness he explained he wanted to show his son you could do anything if you set your mind to it. 🙌🏼Years later he's 4% body fat. 🤯 If he wins he will be donating his winnings to charity.
When you set your mind to something, you are committing to a goal or task and focusing your mental energy on achieving it. This can lead to a number of positive outcomes:
Increased motivation: Setting your mind to something can help you feel more motivated to achieve your goal. When you have a clear objective in mind, you are more likely to put in the effort needed to reach it.
Improved focus: By setting your mind to something, you are directing your attention and concentration towards a specific goal. This can help you to eliminate distractions and stay on track.
Enhanced creativity: Focusing your mind on a specific task can also help to stimulate creativity and innovation. When you are fully engaged in a task, you may be more likely to come up with new and creative solutions to problems.
Greater resilience: When you set your mind to something, you are committing to a goal even in the face of obstacles or setbacks. This can help to build resilience and develop a mindset of perseverance.
Overall, setting your mind to something can help you to achieve your goals, improve your mental focus and clarity, and enhance your overall well-being.

Top Reasons to do a Boudoir Session
There are a zillion reasons you can find to book a session - capture all your hardworking for a fitness competition, celebrate your birthday, a gift to your partner, or just a fun new experience. And believe me, if you’re searching for an excuse, I can find one for you no problem. The only reason you need to book a session is because you want to. Because it sounds like something you’d enjoy and because you believe that you deserve to be documented. Do it for yourself. Do it because you want to do and do it because you know you’re worth it.
Women may choose to do multiple boudoir sessions for a variety of reasons. Some possible reasons include:
To capture different looks or moods: Women may want to capture different sides of themselves in their boudoir photos. They may want to do one session that is more sultry and seductive, and another session that is more playful or romantic.
To mark different milestones: Boudoir sessions can be a great way to celebrate different milestones in a woman's life. For example, a woman may do a boudoir session to mark her engagement, and then do another session to celebrate her wedding or the birth of a child.
To document changes in their body: Women's bodies can change over time, and boudoir sessions can be a way to document those changes. Some women may want to do a session before and after a major weight loss or gain, for example.
To give as gifts: Boudoir photos can make great gifts for a partner, and women may choose to do multiple sessions to create a collection of photos to give as gifts over time.
Overall, the reasons for doing multiple boudoir sessions are as varied as the women who choose to do them.
Boudoir Before a Mastectomy
Everyone always tells me "photographing weddings is such a big responsibility" It is... except for yesterday. Yesterday I had the honor of photographing Ms. B. She contacted me last minute and wanted to have photos taken before her double mastectomy that is taking place tomorrow. Her outlook on life and her mindset was incredible. Hearing her story and the details of the surgery was inspiring. I know this woman will bounce back even stronger than ever! Ms. B: I can not wait to see you again for part 2 of your boudoir shoot! Here's to a speedy recovery!
So, should you take boudoir photos before a mastectomy?
This is a personal decision that ultimately depends on your comfort level and individual circumstances. Some people may choose to take boudoir photos before a mastectomy as a way to celebrate and honor their breasts, while others may not feel comfortable with the idea.
It's important to consider how you might feel about the photos in the future, as well as any potential emotional or physical discomfort during the photography session. You may also want to consider whether you want to share the photos with others, and if so, who you want to share them with.
Ultimately, the decision to take boudoir photos before a mastectomy should be made based on your own feelings and desires. It may be helpful to talk with other women in similar situations to see if its right for you.
