Challenging Negative Self-Talk

Stop letting the mirror control your confidence, you are absolutely stunning just the way you are. Stop comparing yourself to other women. Period. We are all fabulous creatures and if we were all the same things would be pretty damn boring. You are special, unique, intelligent, brave, charismatic, gorgeous, loyal, kind-hearted and you are the best YOU there is. No one is you and that is your power.

We all have those inner critics, but it's time to silence them. When you catch yourself engaging in negative self-talk about your body, challenge those thoughts! Replace them with empowering affirmations that celebrate your beauty and worth. Remember, you are strong, capable, and deserve to feel good about yourself.

What if you found your moms boudoir photos?

A few weeks ago, I had a lovely client. She wanted to do this forever and was inspired by HER GRANDMA. This woman was so proud of her photos; it's a joke she will have them hanging at her funeral. 😆 Honestly, she sounds like a rad lady. 🙌🏼

But what if you found your mom's book? What would you think? Would it be a proud moment, or would you close it so fast and run in the other direction?

I would think WOW, Mom did that. And she did that despite the era she grew up in. Now, in 2024, boudoir photos are still a little taboo. But can you imagine the stigma behind it in the 80s?

The "youngest" client I have had the pleasure of photographing was 78. It was for a couple's boudoir session, and her husband was 80. (THAT IS A WHOLE OTHER STORY 😅) The love they had for each other was unreal. If I can only be so lucky. 🥹

In the end, will we regret not having done it? Will we wish we would have just did the damn photoshoot? Who knows. I know for myself I still have my bucket list of random things that scare the hell out of me. I still want to go to Machu Picchu, but I am terrified of the language barrier. I tried to face my fear when I was 12, by going to Italy. I ended up LOST, without my tour group. In some miracle feat, I literally ran into an American on a bike (we crashed into each other), and I told him what I remembered about my hotel. It was next to a roundabout, a bus station, and a Mcdonald's. I made it back, and I didn't die. But can you see why I have a fear of traveling to foreign countries?

In the end, boudoir photography is an adventure. A thrilling and fun one. ❤️ If this is something you have put off for years, let's chat.

Self-Care Isn't Selfish: 3 Ways to Prioritize Yourself and Ditch the Burnout Cycle!

Feeling constantly drained, like you're running on fumes? You're not alone! Many of us struggle to prioritize self-care, leading to burnout, resentment, and neglecting our well-being. But here's the secret: taking care of yourself is not selfish, it's essential.

Here are 3 ways to break the cycle of burnout and prioritize your well-being:

1. Identify Your Needs: Take time to reflect on your individual needs. Do you crave quiet time alone, or do you recharge through social connection? Are you energized by physical activity or creative expression? Understanding your unique needs is the first step to creating a self-care routine that truly nourishes you.

2. Schedule Self-Care, Not Just Work: Treat self-care like any other important appointment. Block time in your calendar for activities that replenish your energy, whether it's reading a book, taking a relaxing bath, or spending time in nature. I myself have been putting a fun thing on the schedule for 3 months out. So far comedy shows have been thee best “medicine”

3. Practice Setting Boundaries: Learn to say "no" to protect your time and energy. Don't feel obligated to take on additional responsibilities that leave you feeling drained or stretched too thin. Setting healthy boundaries allows you to prioritize your well-being and avoid burnout.

Remember, you are worthy of prioritizing your well-being. Taking care of yourself is not an act of selfishness, but an investment in a happier, healthier, and more fulfilling life!

Starting Over

Last week, I talked with a woman starting over. She didn't initially tell me what she was starting over from, so I politely asked what she was starting over from.

She just left an 8-year relationship. Breaking free from a toxic relationship is a courageous feat, and the journey toward healing is not for the weak at heart. It doesn’t happen overnight, it doesn’t happen in months, it happens over time.

This babe took a leap of faith, and left. She had no idea what was next, but she knew it was going to be better and I applaud her for that.

I will keep you posted on her shoot, ominously, of course.

Non Lingerie Ideas

A boudoir photo shoot is all about capturing intimate and sensual moments, and there are plenty of options for attire that don't involve lingerie. Here's a list of non-lingerie ideas for women to wear during a boudoir photo shoot:

  1. Bodysuit: A form-fitting bodysuit can be just as alluring as lingerie and offers various styles and textures.

  2. Silky Robe: A luxurious silk or satin robe can be draped seductively to tease the viewer's imagination.

  3. Men's Dress Shirt: Wearing an oversized men's dress shirt can create a sensual, "borrowed from your partner" look.

  4. Sweater: A cozy, oversized sweater can add a touch of comfort and intimacy to your photos.

  5. Button-Down Shirt: Unbuttoned or partially undone, a button-down shirt can create a playful and revealing look.

  6. Off-the-Shoulder Top: An off-the-shoulder blouse can be both elegant and sensual, showing a hint of skin.

  7. Corset: While not traditional lingerie, a corset can offer a vintage and sophisticated vibe.

  8. Lace or Sheer Bodysuit: These options are a bit more conservative than traditional lingerie but still provide an alluring appeal.

  9. Tulle Skirt: A flowing, sheer skirt can add a touch of fantasy and whimsy to your boudoir shoot.

  10. Oversized Sweater or Cardigan: Snuggling up in an oversized knit can create an intimate and cozy atmosphere. This is one of my personal favorites!

  11. Crop Top and High-Waisted Panties: This combination is stylish and comfortable, with a hint of sensuality.

  12. Vintage-Inspired Outfits: Consider retro dresses, lingerie-inspired camisoles, or high-waisted briefs for a vintage aesthetic.

  13. Lace Kimono: A lace kimono or kimono-style robe can be both elegant and sensual.

  14. Thigh-High Socks: Pair them with a long shirt, oversized sweater, or even a casual tee for a playful look.

  15. Sports Jersey: If you or your partner have a favorite sports team, wearing their jersey can add a personal touch to your shoot.

Ultimately, the choice of clothing for a boudoir photo shoot should reflect your personality, comfort level, and mood you want to convey in the photos.

Bridal Boudoir: Top 3 Things To Know

I have so many brides that come in looking to give THE gift of a lifetime to their groom. Sadly, I receive a lot of calls the week leading up to the wedding. 🙈

  1. Plan to come in at least two months before the wedding date to allow for ample time to get everything in. To learn more about our detailed timelines, be sure to check out our video.

  2. Try to plan your session after your bridal shower: you may receive some saucy gifts you can use for your gift.

  3. Think about your skin and tan lines: We want you to feel and look flawless in your photos. A weekend away on the beach, paired with drinking means your skin will suffer. And you will most likely be dehydrated.

My boudoir session 🙌🏼

Boudoir is for YOU.

I can’t tell you how many times I have heard the phrase I want to give a boudoir shoot to my partner for their birthday, anniversary, special occasion, etc. At the end of every boudoir session each babe says, “Wow, this was really for me!”

My session last fall with Dollhouse Boudoir was 100% for me. It’s been a ROUGH few years, to say the least. And I am 50 pounds heavier than I was a few years back among many other life changes.

But guess what? I love love love these photos! I also love how tan I am too 😜 To date, this is my

  1. 2014: Trying to get my mom mojo back.

  2. 2016: Celebrating losing 15 pounds.

  3. 2017: Celebrating losing another 15 pounds, however, a week after I booked my shoot I found out I was pregnant! So in the photos I was 12 weeks along and my photographer made it look like I wasn’t pregnant!

  4. 2018: I did this session 8 weeks after I had my second child: to prove a point that boudoir is beautiful at any size. And my milk boobs were amazing. 😜

  5. 2020: I had this shoot booked for February 2020. I had some personal stuff pop up so I had to reschedule for later. And then, you know the world collapsed. Between February and June when my session took place, I gained 20ish pounds. Guess what? STILL LOVED THEM. I felt like one hot momma ready to take on the world!

  6. 2022: My most recent one is below. Scroll to the bottom to see everything over the years!

Photos in slideshow below taken by Terry Tabbytosovit, Dollhouse Boudoir, Andi Boudoir, Lindsay Rae, and Sweetness and Light.

The Ultimate Guide to Finding a Boudoir Photographer in the Bay Area

Looking for a boudoir photographer in the Bay Area? Our complete guide gives you all the resources, tips and tricks you need to select the perfect one. Read on!

If you're looking for an experienced boudoir photographer in the Bay Area, you've come to the right place. Our guide will provide you with all the information and resources you need to choose the perfect photographer for your needs. Read on to learn more!

Researching Potential Photographers

As you look for potential boudoir photographers in the Bay Area, it’s essential to do your research. Look at the photographer’s portfolio and read reviews to make sure they have experience with shoots similar to yours. Talk to them on the phone, ask questions about their techniques and processes, and make sure that they are a good fit for your style and budget. Are you comfortable talking to them? If so, you will feel comfortable in front of the camera too! Here are some good places to look for boudoir photographers in your area:

Understanding Boudoir Photography Packages

When looking for boudoir photographers in the Bay Area, take into account the different types of packages they offer. Some may include one or two looks and an hour’s worth of shooting time, while others may provide more extensive services like professional hair and makeup, multiple looks and locations, and several hours of shooting time. It’s important to understand exactly they offer and do they have what you are looking for?

Scheduling a Consultation

Once you have narrowed down your list of possible boudoir photographers, the next step is to schedule a consultation. Taking some time to meet and discuss the logistics with a photographer may reveal details that cannot be found through researching online. This will also give you the opportunity to get to know them better, ask questions about their experience, and learn how comfortable they make you feel so that you can choose the most suitable photographer for your boudoir photography session.

Making the Final Decision and Asking Questions

During the consultation or meeting, ask questions such as what style would they prefer shooting and if they have an idea of the type of photos you are interested in. Also, make sure to discuss pricing and payment arrangements, ensure that their timelines fit within your own, and inquire about any additional services offered (such as prints, albums or digital files). Ask for a portfolio of work and review the photographer’s online galleries before making a final decision.

  • How long until I receive my finished products?

  • Do I have to share my images?

  • Are they digital only or printed? Albums?

  • When do the shoots take place? Weekdays? Weekends?

  • Do you have a studio, or do you shoot in my home? Or an Airbnb?

I hope this guide helps you in your hunt for the perfect photographer for you. Cheers! Tiffany

Time for a change

This babe has done shoots before in the past: but never for herself. This time it was 100% about her. She loves Marilyn Monroe, so we did a throwback to that era. I think she killed it!

Hollywood glamour boudoir photography is all about creating a vintage, sophisticated, and seductive look. Here are some ideas to help you achieve that Hollywood glamour boudoir vibe:

  1. Classic Hollywood hairstyle: Consider styling your hair in vintage Hollywood waves or a sleek updo. You can also add some hair accessories such as a hair comb, a hairpin or a hairband.

  2. Bold makeup: For a glamorous look, opt for bold makeup with a red lip, winged eyeliner, and dramatic lashes. You can also add some highlighter to give your skin a glowing finish.

  3. Glamorous lingerie: Choose lingerie that is elegant and sophisticated, such as a vintage-style lace bra and panties or a silk slip. You can also accessorize with stockings, garter belts, and high heels.

  4. Art deco inspired set: For your boudoir photo shoot, consider a set design that is inspired by the art deco style of the 1920s and 1930s. This could include geometric patterns, metallic accents, and luxurious fabrics.

  5. Vintage props: Incorporate vintage props such as a feather boa, a vintage telephone, a record player, or an antique mirror to enhance the Hollywood glamour theme.

  6. Soft lighting: Create a soft and romantic mood by using diffused lighting or natural light. Consider using lamps, candles, or fairy lights to add warmth and ambiance to your boudoir photos.

Remember that the most important thing is to feel comfortable and confident in your skin. These ideas are meant to inspire you and help you create a glamorous and memorable boudoir photo shoot.

Tattoos are a form of artistic expression that has been practiced for thousands of years. They allow individuals to express their creativity, identity, beliefs, and emotions through a permanent art form on their body. Tattoos can range from simple designs to elaborate pieces that cover large areas of the body.

For many people, getting a tattoo is a deeply personal and meaningful experience. It can be a way to commemorate a loved one, honor a cultural or spiritual tradition, express oneself, or mark a significant life event. Tattoos can also be a form of rebellion or a way to challenge societal norms and expectations.

Tattoo artists are skilled professionals who use their creativity and technical abilities to bring their clients' visions to life. They work closely with their clients to design custom pieces that reflect their individuality and personal style. The process of getting a tattoo can also be a collaborative and therapeutic experience, as clients often share personal stories and experiences with their artists.

In recent years, tattoos have become more mainstream and widely accepted as a legitimate form of art and self-expression. Many tattoo artists have gained recognition as respected artists in the broader art world, and tattoo conventions and exhibitions have become popular events. Tattoos can also serve as a way for individuals to express their support for social and political causes, such as LGBTQ+ rights, racial justice, or environmental activism.

I myself have no tattoos: but I love them! I’m too afraid of needles.

Celebrate your hard-earned fitness achievements and capture the beauty of those results with fitness boudoir photos! With professionally taken boudoir photographs, you can proudly show off all the work that has gone into achieving your physical goals.

Prior to your fitness boudoir shoot, take the time to think about how you want to represent yourself and your transformations. Do you want to be wearing gym clothes? Swimwear? What outfits you choose should accentuate the beauty of your physical accomplishments.

Preparing for a fitness competition requires a lot of dedication, hard work, and discipline. Here are some tips to help you get started:

  1. Set a Goal: Decide on the specific competition you want to participate in and set a goal to achieve. Create a timeline and map out your plan for training and diet.

  2. Work with a Coach: Working with a coach or a personal trainer who specializes in fitness competition preparation can be helpful. They can provide guidance on training, nutrition, posing, and overall competition preparation. I’m a fan of Davin.

  3. Train Consistently: A fitness competition requires a lot of physical preparation, so make sure you train regularly and consistently. This should include both strength training and cardio exercises.

  4. Follow a Proper Nutrition Plan: Eating a proper diet is crucial for success in a fitness competition. Make sure you are consuming enough protein, carbohydrates, and healthy fats to support your training and muscle growth. Consider working with a registered dietitian to develop a nutrition plan that suits your goals and needs.

  5. Practice Posing: Posing is an essential component of fitness competitions. Make sure you practice posing regularly and get feedback from a coach or trainer to improve your technique.

  6. Get Plenty of Rest: Rest and recovery are essential to avoid overtraining and injury. Make sure you get enough sleep and take rest days as needed.

  7. Stay Motivated: Preparing for a fitness competition can be challenging, so make sure you stay motivated throughout the process. Surround yourself with supportive people and keep your goals in mind to stay focused and on track.

Remember that preparing for a fitness competition takes time and dedication, so be patient with yourself and celebrate small victories along the way.

Male Fitness Inspiration

Male Fitness Photo Inspiration

I love hearing about fitness journeys. Have you noticed so many have a pivotal moment where they realize its time to change. For me it was watching many family members get so sick because of lack of healthy habits. I realized I could leave my littles and that was it. I appreciate those in the fitness arena who give so many hope to keep on going!

Getting started with working out can be a bit daunting, but there are a few steps you can take to make it easier:

  1. Set your goals: The first thing you need to do is decide what you want to achieve with your workout routine. Do you want to build muscle, lose weight, or simply improve your overall fitness? Once you have a goal in mind, it will be easier to create a workout plan that suits your needs.

  2. Choose your workout routine: There are many different types of workouts you can do, so choose one that you enjoy and can stick to. Some options include strength training, cardio, yoga, Pilates, or a combination of these.

  3. Start small: Don't try to do too much too soon. Begin with a shorter workout routine and gradually increase the length and intensity as your fitness improves.

  4. Get proper equipment: Make sure you have appropriate workout clothes, shoes, and any necessary equipment, such as weights or a yoga mat.

  5. Warm up and cool down: Always warm up before starting your workout to prevent injury, and cool down afterward to help your body recover.

  6. Stay consistent: Consistency is key when it comes to working out. Try to work out at the same time every day or on certain days of the week to create a routine.

  7. Track your progress: Keep track of your progress to see how far you've come and to stay motivated. This can include tracking your weight, measurements, or the number of reps you can do.

Remember, starting a workout routine is a journey, so don't be too hard on yourself if you miss a day or don't see progress right away. Keep at it, and you'll start to see the benefits over time.
